Block House Berlin donates to Mutperlen
Courage is good for kids! The Mutperlen (pearls of courage) Thiede Initiative in Berlin collects donations for children and young people with cancer. So we are all the more delighted to be able to hand over a cheque for a donation of €7,200 from the Block House Theodor-Heuss-Platz, Block House Berlin Kurfürstendamm, Block House Am Alexanderplatz, Block House Zehlendorf, Block House Friedrichstraße and the Block House Am Zoo Palast Bikini Berlin.
Pearls of courage are a symbol of hope
The chain of pearls tells the story of small and young patients who are treated at the HELIOS children’s hospital.
The HELIOS children’s hospital in the Buch district of Berlin, the Head Physician, Dr Lothar Schweigerer and the ICKE in Buch e.V. Association – an initiative of chronically ill children and their parents that was founded by means of a MUTPERLEN fund-raising campaign in 2012 – need our support!
Threading the pearls begins with the initial reception, starting with the patient’s first name, then various pearls are added during the course of the stay with symbols for hope, chemotherapy, radiation, hair loss and the like. This varies according to the therapy and examination.
