Now Mr and Mrs Rumpsteak are at home in Erfurt

The Block House restaurant at Anger 39 in Erfurt has now opened its doors. It had already become clear that Erfurt had been eagerly awaiting the new restaurant during the two-week test phase that precede the official “Premiere Day” on 18 September. The vigorous response during the trial run once again confirmed Block House restaurants’ decision to open a new location in the heart of the state capital of Thuringia, Germany. Erfurt had long been on the wish list of the gastronomy brand, which invested €2.5 million in refurbishing the historic building. Now Block House is set for a promising future at this traditional site and is planning to expand further in Thuringia. The Block House at the Anger now serves tender steaks, fresh and crispy salads, baked potatoes and the original Block House bread. The new restaurant is now the 42nd in Germany and the 52nd in Europe for the Hamburg-based Block Group.
“As newcomers to the local gastronomy scene, we are delighted with the reception that we have received from the people of Erfurt and visitors” says Stephan von Bülow, the Chairman of the Block Group’s Advisory Board. “Since opening in a sort of ‘start-up phase’ at the end of August, we have had very good daily turnovers, far higher than what we had expected.”
